Participation and Engagement Manager

The Leeds Rugby Foundation (LRF) is positioning itself at the forefront of tackling some of the major issues that restrict the marginalised and disadvantaged sectors of our community from achieving their full potential. This role will allow the right person to join the dynamic, passionate and professional Leeds Rugby Foundation team and truly change these people’s lives through sport.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of achieving positive outcomes working in the areas of youth crime prevention, offender rehabilitation, anger/behavioural management, and conflict resolution. Experience of utilising sports programmes, especially rugby league, is essential and a working knowledge of restorative practises is highly desirable.

Reporting to the Director of Operations the successful candidate will work alongside and closely with the Partnership Manager, Rugby League Development Manager, Community Development Manager, and the Try Zone Manager.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

• Secure grant/programme funding and develop projects to provide the LRF strategy to tackle the issues highlighted above.
• Strategically develop LRF community hubs in key areas of deprivation within the city.
• Act as the key contact for LRF to further strengthen proactive relationships with relevant local authority and Governmental Departments.
• Explore greater working relationships with other sports related trusts/foundations.
• Develop projects that assist in improving outcomes for those young people in Leeds at risk of becoming NEET, have poor school attendance, and those in local authority care.

Additional Responsibilities will include:
• Additional work for the Leeds Rugby Foundation as requested by line manager
• Attendance at all core Leeds Rugby Foundation events including Leeds Rhinos match days.
• Update Outlook calendar on a weekly basis and manage own workload effectively.

The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate at all levels, have excellent time management skills and be able to work as an individual and as part of the Leeds Rugby Foundation team.

This is a full time role, which will be based at Leeds Rugby Foundation, Leeds Rugby Academy, Bridge Road, Clarence Fields, Kirkstall, Leeds, LS5 3BW and also in the community. The salary for the role is dependent on your skills, experience and current qualifications.
