Disability Rugby
Leeds Rhinos Foundation have been a physical activity provider for Aspire CBS for over 5 years. Across the week, we provide bespoke rugby-based and mixed sports physical activity sessions to Aspire CBS’s community hubs across the city. Sessions focus on enjoyment and increasing physical activity levels, whilst providing the customers an opportunity to learn new skills in an inclusive and accessible mannor.
Each week, approximately 80 participants regularly access these sessions.
Alongside the weekly physical activity sessions, the Leeds Rhinos Foundation work with Aspire CBS customers to engage them in our wider sporting opportunities such as our joining our Learning Disability Super League Team, accessing weight maintenance and life skills workshops alongside attending Leeds Rhinos matchdays at Headingley Stadium throughout the season.
Each year we celebrate our partnership by hosting the Aspire CBS tag rugby festival which takes place on the hallowed turf at Headingley Stadium. People can take part in a non-competitive rugby festival on the pitch, socialise in the stands, whilst also giving wheelchair rugby league a try.
