Rhinos Challenge celebrates its 10th anniversary!

Set up by Leeds Rhinos Foundation and ESF Events at Butlin’s Skegness, the Rhinos Challenge is a professionally organised festival that brings teams from far and wide, for an amazing weekend of fun.

Since the event began back in 2012, the event has seen thousands of young stars make the journey to Skegness, and this year will be no different, with 303 rugby teams and 101 netball teams set to join us over the next two weeks.

Our spectacular celebrity presentations are always a tour highlight and are the perfect way to close the festival in style. To celebrate the achievements of all the children, every team is invited onto the main stage, where each player receives a high-quality Rhinos Challenge medal from our special guests!

Special guests over the years have included Rhinos’ 1st team Men and Women, alongside Leeds Rhinos Netball players since the sport was introduced to event.

To make these presentations even more memorable, introduced last year was our very own laser beam show, which went down a treat with all age groups.

Gareth Cook, Head of Community and Engagement here at the Foundation, commented on the success of the event: “We are extremely proud of our partnership with ESF events and to celebrate 10 years is an amazing milestone.

“The Rhinos Challenge is one of, if not the biggest event we deliver each year and has grown significantly since the first in 2012. Over 300 junior rugby league teams and 100 netball teams from across the country will be attending this year as well as several Rhinos players.

“We would like to thank all those clubs that have participated over the years and taken part in so many fundraising opportunities to allow them to attend.”

We cannot wait to welcome all of the teams joining us this year and see what the future of these two games have to offer!
