New Leeds City College Head Coach and Leeds Rhinos icon Keith Senior is urging all young enthusiasts to attend an open evening at Leeds City College on Tuesday 4th March which will look at possible courses to further student’s education, as well as showcase the ‘pathway’ to top class rugby league Leeds City College can offer.
The open day down at Leeds City College’s Park Lane Campus will kick off at 5pm and run through until around 7pm and aims to give young players the chance to understand the opportunities that can arise from playing for the Leeds City College Rugby Academy Team. It will also look at possible courses to further their education after leaving school.
In the past, a clear rugby league pathway has been created, which Senior now heads up, to help develop young players to progress to the next level.
This is highlighted through Ben Frankland who started off at Leeds City College and progressed onto a contract at the Leeds Rhinos and a chance to fulfil his dreams as a professional rugby player.
The Leeds City College Rugby Academy get the unique chance to train at the Leeds Rhinos first team training facilities. This involves using the Leeds Rhinos gym with a qualified conditioning coach as well as the Leeds Rhinos 3G pitch and combat room.
With Senior being appointed head coach earlier this year, the opportunity to learn from the best of the best is something that youngsters should not let pass them by.
Senior will be present at the evening and is urging as many youngsters as possible to attend as possible. He said:
“This really is a great opportunity for youngsters to progress their education as well as the added possibility of benefiting and progressing through the player ‘pathway’ at Leeds City College.
