Rhinestones Dance Academy celebrates 15 years of success

Launched in 2009 by our Dance Development Officer, Nicola Booth, the aim of Rhinestones has always been to give young people the opportunity to access high quality dance classes at an affordable price – offering specialist training, led by highly experienced coaches and volunteers, for aspiring dancers across Leeds.

With sessions delivered in a safe and welcoming environment, Rhinestones prides itself on inspiring self-confidence, discipline, and camaraderie amongst its members, who throughout the year will be offered many exciting performance opportunities – both on stage and live in front of thousands of Rhinos fans at AMT Headingley Stadium during Super League matches.

For those who show great commitment and improvement, there are unique opportunities to become a part of our Rhinestones Elite Team. Last year was an extremely successful one for our Elite team dancers, who took part in numerous competitions across the country. These dancers also got the opportunity to perform at prestigious venues, including the world-famous Blackpool Tower and the honour of performing at the Yorkshire Children of Courage Awards.

Throughout the years, the Dance Academy has seen an impressive number of young dancers flourish, many showing true loyalty to the Rhinestones and developing into student coaches.

Reflecting on the past 15 years, Nicola Booth commented: “I am so proud that Rhinestones is still going strong 15 years on. I’ve met some wonderful people and have so many amazing Rhinestones memories.

“I feel honoured and privileged that people pick Rhinestones for their children and end up loving it as much as I do once they’re a part of it.

“Who knows what the future holds, but I hope the Rhinestones continues to grow and is around for many more years.”

To further celebrate this milestone, the Rhinestones will perform on the pitch at the upcoming Super League match on Friday 15th March, when the Rhinos take on St Helens.
