Leeds Rugby Foundation and the RFL support Teacher Touch Rugby Event

Leeds Rugby Foundation refereed and coordinated the Teacher Touch Rugby Event held last Friday at John Smeaton High School, as part of the play touch rugby programme

Many thanks to Lee Parkin, Dept of PE, and his team for hosting this event for the second year in a row.  Six schools attended and some great skills were on show on a sunny autumn evening. South Leeds Academy and Corpus Christi were the finalists – with South Leeds Academy winning in the final.

Lee Parkin of John Smeaton commented, "These events are most enjoyable and strengthen the relationships between schools."

Sam Horner, Leeds Rugby Foundation development officer, added "We would love to have more Teacher Touch Rugby events throughtout the school year and different schools could host each time.  If you are interested in playing touch rugby we are starting an indoor event at Soccer City in Leeds, starting on 16 October at 7pm-9pm.  This will be held every Tuesday evening until end of March – please get in touch to find out more."
