The Year 8 girls Champion Schools festival took place last week in which Roundhay, Corpus Christi and Cockburn competed to make it to the regional stage.
This year's year 8 girls Champion Schools festival took place on the 13th February. Cockburn, Corpus Christi and Roundhay all took part in what turned out to be a great festival.

Cockburn and Corpus Christi Qualify to Regional stage.
It was Roundhay's first festival and they performed brilliantly as their coach, Lois Forsell, has only been with the team for four weeks, pushing Corpus Christi to a close finish with Katie Costello and Tiger Pugh their scorers. All the teams performed well in the wet and windy conditions with Orlaith Arnold scoring a hat trick for Corpus Christi.
Cockburn and Corpus Christi have now qualified at more than one age group to the regional stages. Cockburn at years 8 and 9 and Corpus Christi at 8, 10 and 11. Roundhay however are definitely an up and coming team and one to watch for the future.
