On Thursday 15th August, during half time of Leeds Rhinos’ match with St Helens, the 2019 Grand Raffle Draw took place at Emerald Headingley Stadium, which we are delighted to reveal has raised over £6,000 for our charity.
The Grand Raffle Draw once again gave people the chance to win a number of fantastic prizes, including the first prize Jacuzzi® Hot Tub, by purchasing a ticket for just £1, with all funds raised going towards supporting the work of Leeds Rhinos Foundation.
Tickets were sold from the Leeds Rhinos club shop, in addition to special events such as the 2019 Rhinos Challenge festival and Women’s team match with Featherstone Rovers and offices across the city, with Leeds Building Society and Barclays just two of the organisations who invited our team along to meet their staff and sell Grand Raffle Draw tickets.
Each of Leeds Rhinos’ Ambassador clubs also joined in with the selling, enjoying a special ‘cashback’ incentive to earn funds for their own team through each ticket sold.
Speaking about the success of the 2019 Grand Raffle Draw, Commercial Sales and Foundation Co-Ordinator Briana Powell said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sold tickets on our behalf, or who purchased a Grand Raffle ticket this year!
“We wouldn’t be able to continue changing lives through sport if it wasn’t for the support of our fans, Ambassador clubs and the wider community getting behind initiatives like this and helping us to raise such vital funds for our charity.
“There were some great prizes up for grabs which really caught the imagination of the public, so I would also like to say a huge thanks to Jacuzzi Spa & Bath Ltd for their continued support and providing us with such a fantastic first prize, with kind donations also coming from Whitby Holiday Cottages, Rudding Park and Slingsby Gin amongst others.
