The official launch of Leeds Rugby Foundation’s Headingley Heroes took place on Friday with great success.
At the launch presentations were delivered to a number of local business representatives and supporters of the foundation by foundation staff, demonstrating the projects they are involved in, the events they run and how they make a difference in the local community. This was followed by a Q&A session with Rhino’s Barrie McDerrmot, two personal accounts of how the foundation has directly impacted individuals in the local area and a few words from one of our Headingley Heroes.
Headingley Heroes is a new initiative from Leeds Rugby Foundation set up in 2012 with the aim of forming an exclusive group of 100 individuals or companies who commit to giving £1,000 per year to Leeds Rugby Foundation. These crucial donations will help us keep all of our vital projects running and therefore are directly helping us to change lives through sport.
Members of Headingley Heroes are invited to exclusive celebration events, are listed on our website and are part of a select group of individuals and organisations who are securing the future of this fantastic charity. Furthermore, becoming a Headingley Hero ticks the corporate social responsibility box, provides a link with two local sports teams: Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Carnegie and gives businesses the opportunity to promote their brands at upcoming events as well as a chance to network with other local businesses who support the cause.
