More youngsters benefit from Score to Explore and Kicks for Boots initiatives after Rhinos win

Liam Sutcliffe played his part by kicking five of his six attempts against St Helens

Thanks to Leeds Rhinos’ win last Friday in the First Utility Super League against St Helens, more local school children benefited from two great initiatives from Leeds Rhinos Foundation.

Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Adam Cuthbertson, Liam Sutcliffe, Carl Ablett and Ash Handley all crossed for tries in the win, which meant that as part of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation 'Score to Explore' initiative, supported by Geoff and Gill Caplan, five deserving Leeds children were given a free place on an outdoor adventure trip.

Kicking goals on the night, Liam Sutcliffe converted five of his six chances, playing his part to ensure that five more children would receive a free pair of X-Blades boots for each of his successful kicks.

The 'Kicks for Boots' incentive is supported by the charity's key partner Cover Structure with the young players receiving the boots selected from the teams who attended the fixture to take part in the match day as half time teams and player escorts.

The lucky winners of the boots following the St Helens game were Oliver Waite from Leeds Irish U10s, Freddie Smith from East Leeds U9s, Jack Horan from Dewsbury Celtic U9s, Leon Wallis from Dewsbury Celtic U9s and Charlie Cooper from East Leeds U9s.

Both 'Kicks for Boots' and 'Score to Explore' aim to reward young people in the community and will run throughout the season, so keep an eye out for our running tally to see how many boots and trips have been given away.
