LRF TV: Run with the Rhinos 2014 is officially launched in front of the cameras!

Run with the Rhinos 2014 was officially launched on Tuesday in front of the ITV cameras as anticipation hots up for what is set to be the best Run with the Rhinos yet! Hear from Jane Tomlinson Appeal Patron Ian Kirke, Rhinos legends Keith Senior and Barrie McDermott as well as Mike Tomlinson ahead of this year’s race….

Two leading charities are joining forces to give people a rare opportunity to be part of a special team running in this year’s Asda Foundation Leeds 10K.

A lucky 150 runners will take part in the popular race on Sunday 20th July as members of the Run With The Rhinos team with all runners asked to raise a minimum of £150.

The opportunity will celebrate 150 years of rugby in the city and raise money for Leeds Rugby Foundation and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.

Jane Tomlinson Appeal Patron, Ian Kirke said: “This is a brilliant chance for people to pull on their trainers and hit the streets alongside their Rhinos favourites. Better still, at the same time, they can raise funds for two really great causes. Jane’s legacy continues to inspire people to do amazing things – hopefully our loyal Rhinos fans will be encouraged to challenge themselves with this great opportunity.”

Rhinos’ chief executive officer Gary Hetherington and club legends Barrie McDermott and Keith Senior will be among those running for the team.

The runners who raise the minimum of £150 will receive the following benefits:
• A unique Run With The Rhinos running shirt and a chance to bid for the number of their choice between 1 and 150.
• A limited edition, exclusive Steeden 150 Year branded rugby ball.
• An invite to a pre-run pasta party in the week leading up to the race.
• An offer to take part in a pitch parade at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium during half- time of the Leeds Rhinos v St Helens Super League encounter on 29th August, (for which a match ticket must be purchased)

Any runner raising at least £400 will enjoy extra benefits including having their rugby ball signed by the Rhinos’ first team squad and a VIP invite to one of the club’s home games.

The package for two people includes entry through the corporate gate, a pre-match two-course meal hosted by Keith Senior, pre-match analysis by a member of the Rhinos’ squad, cushioned corporate seating for the game and post-match admission to the Long Bar – the players’ lounge.

Bob Bowman, Director of Operations at Leeds Rugby Foundation, said: “The Leeds 10K is a fantastic event and it will be even more special for the 150 members of our Run With The Rhinos team. They will enjoy some unique benefits, have a great day and raise money for two extremely worthy charities.”

Siobhan Curtis, Jane Tomlinson Appeal Legacy Manager, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Leeds Rugby Foundation, which has put together a superb offer.

“I’m sure many people will want to be part of the Run With The Rhinos team and people should act quickly to make sure they secure one of the coveted places.”

All the money raised by the team will be split equally between the foundation and the appeal.
