Leeds Rugby Foundation look ahead to Dick Gibson Ambassador Festival of rugby

Following the success of both Run with the Rhinos and Children’s Day, Leeds Rugby Foundation now look ahead to the next key event of the year which is the annual Dick Gibson Ambassador Festival of Rugby on Sunday 31st August.

The Ambassador Festival, which was formed and is run by the community clubs in the city, will part-host their fourth Ambassador Festival of Rugby from 10am until 4pm at Leeds Rugby Academy, Kirkstall, which will see 56 teams from local community clubs in Leeds attend in what will be the biggest Junior Rugby League Festival in England.

This years' event which is sponsored by Leeds 17 and the family of Dick Gibson and falls firmly under the Leeds Rugby Foundation’s Rugby League Development Plan for Leeds, sponsored by Mears which either aims to get youngsters involved in our game from the youngest of ages or at least a fan.

The Dick Gibson Festival of rugby will see a 7-11 year-old tournament on the Leeds Rhinos training pitches as well as an over 35's Masters Rugby League tournament which is sponsored by Bramley Trust.

As well as that, there will be a host of stalls on offer for the public, from X Blades to the hottest new Rugby League show, Rugby AM! There will also be a number of games and raffles for everyone to enjoy and food and refreshments too.

Last year's event saw the real power of community clubs come together with approximately 2,000 people of all ages attending and this year is set to be bigger and better than ever before!
