Leeds Rhinos Foundation has run a variety of competitions and tournaments in high schools throughout the last half term as part of its Sky Try programme which aims to increase participation and provide more opportunities to play.
The competitions are run in schools across Leeds for all five school age groups and have been a big success.
For boys, there has been the Leeds champions schools Leagues (year 7-10) and champions schools festival (year 11) and for girls, there has been champions schools festivals (year 7 – 11). Schools that entered the leagues have been playing regular weekly fixtures to decide which schools progress to represent Leeds at the RFL’s Yorkshire Cup Competitions.
Brigshaw High School, notably, have qualified in all five year groups, with Corpus Christi and Temple Moor also qualifying in multiple age groups across both the boys and girl’s tournaments.
