Headingley Lodge Manager Swaps Big Beds For Big Sleep 2018

Helen Young is the latest volunteer to sign up for the Big Sleep 2018

Helen Young, Headingley Lodge manager, is the latest volunteer to sign up for the Big Sleep Leeds at Emerald Headingley Stadium on 29th November 2018.

Along with YEP editor Hannah Thaxter, Leeds Rhinos operations manager Sue Ward and Leeds Rhinos Foundation chairman Phil Caplan, Helen will be swapping her beds in Headingley Lodge for the Carnegie Terrace to raise money for vulnerable people in Leeds.

The event is supporting local charities Leeds Rhinos Foundation, St Gemma’s Hospice and St George’s Crypt, who all work with vulnerable people within the city regularly. Over £5,000 has currently been raised by the group, as they aim to raise a final total of £30,000.

“As the manager of Headingley Lodge, I have a choice of rooms to sleep in; but not on the 29th November!”, said Helen.

“I’ve chosen to take part in the Big Sleep to raise funds for those who need it more than us in our great city of Leeds.

“There are many people living on the streets for whatever reasons they may have, this is our opportunity to raise awareness and show support through these three charities: St Georges Crypt, Leeds Rhinos Foundation and St Gemma's Hospice.”
