Leeds Rhinos Foundation is delighted to be shortlisted for Fundraising Event of the Year at the 2020 Institute of Fundraising (IoF) Yorkshire Awards.
The nomination follows the success of the 2019 Leeds Big Sleep with partners St George’s Crypt and St Gemma’s Hospice, which helped to raise over £56,000.
The sleepout was organised by Gareth Cook, Leeds Rhinos Foundation Head of Community and Engagement, Gail Chapman from St Gemma’s Hospice and Cheryl Harrington from St George’s Crypt- whose charities all work in the community of Leeds to help support vulnerable people.
Cook said: “Last year’s Leeds Big Sleep was our most successful yet, with more people taking part and our highest amount raised. What is so great about the event is that it sees three Leeds charities working together to raise awareness and vital funds.
“All the money raised helps some of the most vulnerable people in our city, so we are delighted to be nominated for this award.
Now in its third year, this year’s awards ceremony will be held via Zoom on Wednesday 29 July via Zoom. It’s completely free to be a part of it.
