Yorkshire Health Charity extend partnership with Leeds Rhinos Foundation

Leeds Rhinos Foundation is delighted to announce the continuation of its partnership with the Yorkshire Health Charity.

Yorkshire Health Charity, are a Wakefield based charity who were previously known as WDHCS, and have a history of over 250 in supporting communities.
 
The extended partnership between the two charities will see Leeds Rhinos Foundation deliver high quality physical activity and well-being interventions to Key Stage 2 pupils from mainstream and special schools to leave a healthy lifestyle legacy.
 
Thanks to the funding from Yorkshire Heath Charity, Leeds Rhinos Foundation will now be able to provide 25 Health and Wellbeing presentations in school assemblies, which will cover diet, exercise, sleep, hydration and personal hygiene, as well as regular quality multi-sport coaching in schools.
 
The delivery will be targeted towards Key Stage 2 boys and girls across 22 Leeds schools and three special schools and they will receive six-week high quality multi sport coaching and a Yorkshire Health Charity water bottle and pupils will also get the opportunity to enjoy a unique game day experience at a Leeds Rhinos camps.
 
Gareth Cook, Leeds Rhinos Foundation Community Manager, said: “We are delighted to continue our strong partnership with Yorkshire Health Charity. The funding they are providing is making a significant difference across some of the most disadvantaged areas in Leeds.
 
“Offering schools bespoke extracurricular activity provides children with an opportunity to take part in something they might not engage in outside of school. We really value the support from Richard Buttery and the board at YHC and hope to continue our partnership for many years.”
 
Alongside the provision for schools the partnership will also enable Leeds Rhinos Foundation to run six high quality multi-sport camps across the Leeds area over Easter and Summer.
