With the UK’s first ever Physical Disability Rugby League game taking place between Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Warrington Wolves Foundation on Sunday, Leeds Rhinos’ official charity are delighted to announce Yorkshire-based law firm Chadwick Lawrence as main team sponsor

Leeds Rhinos PDRL squad were invited guests for the Leeds Rhinos Super League opener on Thursday night where they were presented with the team’s new shirt with sponsors Chadwick Lawrence in front of the Halliwell Jones crowd by PDRL Ambassador Barrie McDermott.

Chadwick Lawrence will now be the main sponsor for Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s PDRL team for the 2018 season furthering a relationship which saw the law firm support the charity in 2017 by taking part in the Asda Foundation Leeds 10k in 2017

A modified version of the game, Physical Disability Rugby League involves both full contact and touch tackle options in a nine a side format designed to accommodate players with all types physical disability further widening the opportunity for people to enjoy competing in Rugby League.

In a momentous week for the Rugby League format which started in Australia, Leeds Rhinos Foundation will take part in their first ever game against Warrington Wolves Foundation this Sunday, which will include appearances from Channel 4’s The Last Leg presenters Adam Hills and Alex Brooker along with support from some Rugby League legends.

Managing Partner at Chadwick Lawrence Neil Wilson, who is also a trustee on the board of Leeds Rhions’ official charity said:

“We are genuinely thrilled to be the main sponsor of Leeds Rhinos Physical Disability RL Team.  

“We have a close association with the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and the work they do in and around the Leeds area touches so many lives in a great way.  

“The Rhinos PDRL players are elite athletes themselves so it is only right to ensure that have the very best of facilities and hopefully our sponsorship will go some way to helping with that.”

Leeds Rhinos Foundation Disability Coordinator Chris Godfrey, who has overseen the development of the team said:

“We are delighted to have Chadwick Lawrence as sponsors for the Physical Disability team.

“Leeds Rhinos Foundation have become one of the first charities to enter a team for the new concept which has been very well received, so having a sponsor like Chadwick Lawrence on board to help us in our first season is a huge step forward.”

The team will play their first game this Sunday against Warrington and then the two teams plan to compete in a further two games over the 2018 season.
