Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Leeds City College are hosting a virtual open evening on Monday 15th February for prospective students to learn more about their groundbreaking Leeds Rhinos Development Academy.

The event is open to both male and female students aged 16-18 who are interested in joining the Development Academy in 2021, a dual-pathway programme which enables them to train, play and learn full time at Leeds City College, whilst representing Leeds Rhinos at a post-16 level.

The programme provides the ‘student athlete’ with the best possible environment to succeed on and off the pitch, with its world-class rugby league coaching provision in the Rhinos’ performance pathway, alongside a wide variety of qualifications, academic and vocational course options at the College. For more information on the different pathways available, please CLICK HERE.

Consistent with the club ethos, the Development Academy prides itself on cultivating a winning mentality and helping players develop their technical, tactical and physiological skill sets to maximise their progress.

Following the successful launch of the first Girls Development Academy squad in 2020, there are now more opportunities than ever before for aspiring, young players to get involved with the programme and achieve their full athletic potential.

The virtual open evening is a perfect chance for anyone interested in joining the Development Academy next year to meet the coaches and speak with staff from both organisations, who will be on hand throughout the night to answer any questions, provide all relevant information and explain the next steps for how to get on board.
