Try Tag Rugby is suitable for all abilities

The Leeds Rhinos Foundation are delighted to announce a new partnership with Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire which will see Leeds Rhinos official charity become a charity partner, alongside Sport Relief, for the upcoming Yorkshire Corporate Challenge on the 11th March at Weetwood Sports Park in Leeds.

The partnership will see all profits from the Corporate Challenge event on 11th March split between Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire’s two chosen charities as well as, Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire joining over 30 other businesses in the region in their support of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation by becoming a ‘Friend of the Foundation.’

Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire run weeknight mixed and men’s social adult Tag Rugby leagues at convenient venues across West Yorkshire all year around.  They also run regular free taster sessions, one day festivals and social events throughout the year for both new and existing players to get involved.

Tag Rugby is a minimal contact form of Rugby, with a format and structure of play very similar to Rugby League.

Carl Duckels from Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire commented:

“Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire is thrilled to become a friend of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation in 2016. The foundation is recognised as one of the leading charitable sporting foundations in the UK and we are proud to be lending our support to the great work it does, not just in Rugby League, but in the wider areas of Sport, Health and Education within the city.

“It’s great to see the foundation using the power of sport to really make a difference to people’s lives.
As well as being a fun and exciting way to keep fit, Tag Rugby is very social and a great way to meet new people with all leagues providing a weekly after match social at a nearby pub or clubhouse for players to have some free food and a drink with their team mates and opposition.

As part of Tag Rugby’s wide appeal, players of all sporting abilities and experience levels, from complete rugby novices to more experienced players can enjoy the minimal contact form of the game.

The Yorkshire Corporate Challenge on 11th March will see organisations from across Yorkshire come together to play each other in a mixed 7 aside format (4 males and 3 females on the pitch, maximum squad size of 12 players). At stake the inaugural Yorkshire Corporate Challenge trophy!

Carl Duckels added:

“We are equally delighted to be able to announce the Leeds Rhinos Foundation along with Sport Relief, as the two charity partners for the inaugural Yorkshire Tag Rugby Corporate Challenge on 11th March. The event is set to be a fantastic evening of Tag, with lots of fun, team building and networking going on, all whilst raising money for two fantastic charities!

“Thanks to the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, all the companies taking part will also be entered into a raffle for the amazing opportunity to have all three trophies from the Rhinos Treble winning season come and spend a day with them at their workplace!”

General Manager for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, Davide Longo said:

“It’s fantastic to be able to not only welcome Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire on board as a Friend of the Foundation but also to be chosen as a charity partner for the Yorkshire Corporate Challenge Event.

“Tag Rugby ties in brilliantly with our own sporting ethos at the foundation which is to provide everybody with the chance to enjoy sport and particularly rugby and we hope to see a good number of organisations turn out in March for the Corporate Challenge to enjoy the game and help support two life changing charities.”
