Congratulations must go to six-year-old Megan Rodd who along with her mother, Michelle and the one and only Ronnie the Rhino, successfully climbed Ben Nevis on Saturday in aid of Leeds Rugby Foundation.

Megan, Michelle and Ronnie powered up the 10.6 miles of Britain’s highest mountain in a fantastic 9 hours!

And thanks to her fundraising efforts, Megan and co have raised over £2,000 to help Leeds Rugby Foundation change lives through sport.

On completing the feat, Mum Michelle commented: “I am so proud of Megan.

“When Megan reached the summit of Ben Nevis she started crying because of a huge blister– I was horrified at the size of it!

“But credit to her, she was close to running down that mountain on the way back!

“And even now I can still barely walk, but Megan is already jumping around again.

“She was up at 5am the day after the run doing star jumps because I quote; ‘this is what the Leeds Rhinos players do Mum’!”

Leeds Rugby Foundation’s chief executive Lucy Owen, said: “We can’t thank Megan enough.

“The Leeds Rugby Foundation can’t continue its great work, changing lives, without the help of people like Megan.

“She is making a real difference to people in the local community and she is a real inspiration to children and adults alike.”
