Leeds Rugby Foundation are delighted to announce that fans can now get behind the Quest 14 bike ride challenge
Fans can donate by visiting our Official Fundrasing Page. There is also a text to give option which makes it easier than ever to support this great challenge and help the LRF to raise some much needed funds.
All fans need to do is Text QUES14 and their amount £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070.
A five strong team led by Rhinos legend Keith Senior will be taking on a gruelling 8 day challenge, cycling from Perpignan in the South of France to the Leeds Rhinos game to deliver the match ball for their game against the Catalan Dragons on 29th June, 2014.
Leader of the Quest14 team, Keith Senior said: “It's great that people can get behind us and use our JustGiving page or text to give option to help us to raise some vital funds for the Leeds Rugby Foundation. All donations make the trip that much easier knowing that people are supporting us and getting behind the cause which ultimately helps us to change lives through sport.”
In a link with the Tour De France Grand Depart in Yorkshire, the team will cycle the Leeds – Harrogate route on the final day of the challenge. They will travel 134 miles in their final day to get back for the Leeds Rhinos vs Catalan Dragons Super League clash at 3pm which means they will have to depart at 4am.
Itinerary for the cycle challenge is as follows….
Day 1 22nd June Perpignan – Gaillac 136 miles
Day 2 23rd June Gaillac – Perigueux 130 miles
Day 3 24th June Perigeux – Poitiers 117 miles
Day 4 25th June Poitiers – Le Mans 115 miles
Day 5 26th June Le Mans – Caen (overnight ferry) 100 miles
Day 6 27th June Portsmouth – Leamington Spa 134 miles
Day 7 28th June Leamington Spa – Headingley 144 miles
Day 8 29th June Grand Depart Stage 1 + Harrogate – Headingley 134 miles
Total 1,010 miles
