Brian McDermott leads the team for Christmas rowing challenge.
On Sat 22nd Dec a team made up of Leeds Firefighters and Leeds Rugby Foundation staff rowed non-stop for 3 hours at the ASDA Pudsey Supercentre. The rowers, including Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Brian McDermott, battled in the torrential rain to raise over £1,500 for the Leeds Rugby Foundation and the Firefighters Charity. In total the team of twelve rowed an impressive 49,213 kilometres.
Bob Bowman, Vice-Chair of the Leeds Rugby Foundation said, “It’s been a great day and we’d like to thank all the customers at Asda who have made donations and of course all of the volunteers who have given their time. We enjoyed the event so much that we’re already thinking about plans for 2013, so watch this space.”
