Roundhay School Dress Down to Support Trustee Challenge

Lucy Young, Leeds Rugby Foundation Manager recently visited Roundhay School to collect a wonderful cheque of £1,243! They had raised this amazing amount by doing a dress down day during the time that Foundation Trustee, Bob Bowman was taking part in his mammoth Paris to London Challenge. Bob, works closely with schools across the city through his role with the police and Roundhay School were inspired to do something special to show him their support.

Bob commented, "Being part of the Jane Tomlinson 10th Anniversary Challenge team was an amazing experience but the challenge was really tough, so knowing that people back at home were doing their bit to support us and help us reach our target was a real boost."

Lucy Young said, "This is an awesome amount of money that will go a long way towards helping Bob reach his target of £20,000. The money that is raised will be split between the Leeds Rugby Foundation which delivers projects in the heart of the community to make a lasting impact on individuals' lives and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal which helps children's and cancer charities. The money that Roundhay have raised will make a huge difference to the two local charities which in turn will allow us to change even more lives for the better."

Several other schools across the city have decided to follow suit and more dress down days to support the challenge are coming up! Bob will also be visiting the schools who take part to help inspire their pupils to make positive changes to their own and others' lives. This is a wonderful legacy for the challenge to leave across the city and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who is getting involved.
