Rhinos Junior Season Ticket Holders Can Attend ‘Mini Rhino Activity Sessions’ For Free!

Leeds Rhinos players enjoy summer fun at a camp last season

Junior Leeds Rhinos season ticket holders are reminded that they can attend the newly formed ‘Mini Rhino Activity Sessions’ ran by Leeds Rugby Foundation for FREE this weekend.

The specially designed camps are aimed at children aged 4-7 and will continue this weekend. This is the first year Leeds Rugby Foundation have hosted these sessions for the younger ages and as part of the Rugby League 3 Year Development Plan, the belief is that it is vital to start the process of engaging youngsters in sport and activity as early as possible.

The aim of this exciting new project is to engage with children aged 4-7 across the North Leeds and North Yorkshire area through Rugby League. The sessions will be fun and interactive for the children with activities and games held which will help develop the child's fundamental movement skills.

The two blocks of sessions will continue this coming Saturday 3rd August and parents can bring their children along and pay £5 per session.

Each child will receive high quality, fun coaching from Leeds Rhinos professional coaches and remember that if your child is a Rhinos' junior season ticket holder they will able to attend these sessions for FREE (please bring your season ticket on the day).

The blocked sessions are as follows:

Leeds Grammar School,
Harrogate Road, LS17 8GS
Held every Saturday until 24th August
9.30am – 10.30am

Wetherby Sports Association Club,
Boston Road, LS22 5HA
Held every Sunday until 25th August
11am – 12pm

Leeds Rugby Foundation North Leeds and North Yorkshire Development Officer, Nick Settle commented: "This is a unique chance for the youngest of children to get involved in Rugby League.

“We have never hosted rugby camps for children as young as four before, but I believe it to be a great idea and I hope lots of parents buy into the idea too,” he continued.

“We are aiming to engage youngsters in sport at the earliest age possible and that will hopefully mean they continue to participate right through their teens, with a selected few developing into competitive Rugby League players.”
