Registrations open for Year 10 & 11 Rhinos Talent Pathway Development Programme in Leeds!

Leeds Rhinos Foundation are delighted to announce that registration for the Boys RTP Development Programme has now opened to those going into year 10 and 11 this September!

Starting on Monday 18th September following the launch night, players enrolled on the programme will participate in six weekly training sessions at the Leeds Rhinos training complex in Kirkstall, where they will receive outstanding Rugby League coaching within a professional club environment.

This will lead up to a festival at Oulton Raiders where players can showcase the skills they have developed, by representing the Rhinos in a series of competitive games.

During the programme, players will be coached in line with the Rhinos Scholarship, Academy and First Team structures, with a focus on improving their fundamental technical skills, game sense and decision making, as well as physical and mental development through high-quality coaching and outstanding nutritional advice. The programme will follow a Learn, Develop, Apply structure, to ensure that players can reach their full potential.

The session dates will be as followed:

Monday 11th September – Launch Night

Monday 18th September – Team building and small sided games

Monday 25th September – Core Skills and RTP systems

Monday 2nd October – Positional specific

Monday 9th October – Positional specific

Monday 16th October – Team prep

Monday 23rd October – Team prep

Monday 30th October – Final Run / Team Prep

Thursday 2nd November Festival(s) @ Oulton

At a critical stage of the Rhinos Talent Pathway, this open-access programme provides further participation and development opportunities for young players who aspire of progressing into the professional game but are not currently involved on a Scholarship programme.

This pathway provides a strong link into the professional setup and can be used to complement training with a community club, representing a great opportunity for any aspiring players across the city to further their development, explore new techniques and display their abilities in a highly competitive setting.
