Children's Day is an annual event held across the cricket and rugby grounds at Headingley Carnegie Stadium. Its origins date as far back as 1922 when tens of thousands of people would flock to Soldiers' Field at Roundhay Park to enjoy the day. In 1946, just after the Second World War, it was reported that 96,000 people attended.

In 2012 the day was delivered by the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and Leeds Rugby Foundation with support from the Garry Chappelow Memorial Fund, Leeds City Council, Leeds United Foundation and West Yorkshire Police who also use the event to deliver their open day.

Davide Longo Partnership Manager at Leeds Rugby Foundation said: "Children's Day is a historical event and in enjoyed year on year by thousands of people.

“I am delighted partners Pims Ltd have paid for this exclusive and unique skills zone. The zone will give youngsters the chance to try rugby for the first time as well as give others the opportunity to work on their core rugby skills. Pims are fantastic partners of Leeds Rugby Foundation and this vote of support is another prime example of just that.”

Colin Smith, Managing Director at Pims Ltd commented: “Children’s Day is a fantastic event for the city of Leeds and Pims are delighted to be supporting it by purchasing the multi-skills zone. The Zone will hopefully give all youngsters the chance to get involved and test their rugby skills in a fun-filled environment which is something the Leeds Rugby Foundation pride themselves on. Leeds Rugby Foundation do a great job in the community and we are proud to support them for another year.”
