Leeds Rhinos Foundation is pleased to announce that they will be returning to Oldham to host a RTP Player Development Day on Thursday 27th October.
Delivered as part of the new Rhinos Talent Pathway programme, this latest Player Development Day is another exciting opportunity for junior players at any clubs in the Oldham area, which has long been a hot bed of talent for the Super League including Rhinos legends Kevin Sinfield and Barrie McDermott, or across the local region to improve their game by receiving first-class training from Leeds Rhinos Pathway and Scholarship coaches.
The Development Day this October half term will take place at Hathershaw College between 10am-12pm for any boys in Years 9, 10 and 11 who are looking to improve their core Rugby League skills and reach their full athletic potential in a professional environment.
Previous sessions in Oldham have been extremely well received, with last year’s Player Development Days attended by more than 85 local players from 20 different community clubs and proving extremely popular with the youngsters who took part.
Joe Sanderson, Rugby League Development Officer for Oldham, said: “We are extremely proud of how successful our Player Development Day programme has been, and we are now delighted to be able to offer more development opportunities in the February half term to build on the great work we’ve been doing in Oldham to help improve the skills of aspiring players and support the local community clubs with unlocking the full potential of their young talent.
“We’ve actually seen numerous players from community clubs in the Oldham and Rochdale area travelling over to attend our sessions before, so it’s great that we can now deliver something on their doorstep and this works perfectly together with our partnership at Oldham Sixth Form to provide further high-quality sporting opportunities for the young people of Oldham and support their development.”
Please note that places are limited and those who are interested in attending are urged to sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
The session is FREE for all players to attend, but does require all players to pre-registered via the booking form below.
