Leeds Rugby Foundation held a hugely successful Tag Rugby Festival at Guiseley Rangers ARLFC on Friday which saw 13 teams compete for the coveted Rugby League World Cup trophy.
With Australia winning the official RLWC on Saturday at Old Trafford, each Primary School who attended were given a country to represent.
After an enjoyable day, Queensway Primary School were the victors after they narrowly defeated West End Primary School on the golden point ruling!
Leeds Rugby Foundation Primary Schools' Development Officer, Tony Aubrey commented:
"It was an unbelievable day. All schools put in a great effort and all the kids were all smiling and had lots of fun,” he said.
“We wanted to jump on the RLWC band wagon and to get some really good things to happen in Primary School’s around this wonderfully successful RLWC,” he continued.
“Previously we have had lots of kids come to the RLWC game at Headingley and all kids are getting information all the time about Rugby League in Leeds. Hopefully we are not only introducing more fans to the game but we are making a difference to the community clubs by providing more players.”
