Leeds Rugby Foundation and Irwin Mitchell Solicitors are proud to once again launch the highly successful and hugely inspiring Outward Bound Scheme for 2013 which was officially launched by Leeds Rhinos legend Keith Senior on Monday at Leeds Rugby’s Training Ground.

This year's trip to the Outward Bound Centre at Aberdovey, Wales, will take place from 26th August until 1st September and 40 teenagers from Community Clubs in the Leeds and District area will get the chance to experience a host of outdoor activities such as jetty jumping, kayaking, rock climbing, team building exercises, blindfold games, beach touch rugby and many more.
The programme is organised and run by Leeds Rugby Foundation and Outward Bound Trust, but it can only happen due to our generous sponsors Irwin Mitchell LLP, Geoff and Gill Caplan and Wade's Charity.
Outward Bound aims to help young people realise their true potential through reflecting on and learning from adventurous experiences in the wild. The scheme offers experiences to young people who may not have been offered these opportunities otherwise, in a bid to raise confidence, self-esteem and give them the chance to try something new. The hope is they will be proud of their achievements and will go on to see clearly what they might truly be capable of achieving in life.
Leeds Rugby Foundation Community Clubs Development Officer, Sam Horner commented: "The Outward Bound scheme has proven to hugely impact on young people's lives.
"The scheme will take these teenagers out of their comfort zones, develop them as people, but more importantly, change their outlook on life. I can't wait for the launch day next week and I am grateful that Keith Senior has taken time out of his busy schedule to attend."

"These young people will need, at some point, to decide what job they want to do and when they enter the world of work they will need resilience. We are delighted to be able to support such an initiative once again for 40 young people from Yorkshire."
After the event, the young people are invited to an industry day at Irwin Mitchell offices in Leeds where Irwin Mitchell personnel work with the students on employment-based skills and training.
This includes problem solving, CV writing, personal finances and budget setting. This will be the third year running the firm has offered the option to those young people who have been on the Outward Bound course. The feedback from the students was so positive that Irwin Mitchell is planning to run more days for other students.
