LRF and Leeds 17 to host 150 Year Anniversary Dinner

Both events are to celebrate 150 years or rugby in Leeds

This year marks the 150th anniversary of rugby in Leeds and to celebrate, the Leeds Rugby Foundation are holding a 4 course meal at Leeds 17 restaurant on Saturday 22nd March 2014.

The event, which will commence at 7pm with a sparkling wine reception, is being held by the LRF to acknowledge the heritage and preserve the future of rugby in Leeds. The cost is £30 per head and will include keynote speeches from Rhinos' personnel and a memorabilia auction to end the night.

The award winning, Leeds 17 restaurant will also play host to a Leeds Rugby Heritage exhibition on the night, in which the LRF hopes to celebrate the rich history of rugby in the city and provide an insight into how both the sport and the city has progressed over the last 150 years. Leeds 17 shares the LRF's views on the importance of community and pride themselves on their Yorkshire heritage which makes it the perfect venue for this event.

Davide Longo, LRF Partnership Manager, said: “We are running the event to reflect on 150 years of rugby in the Leeds area and celebrate the rich sporting heritage that our city has. The event promises to combine old and new and not only look back at the history of rugby but to look to the future.”
