Leeds School’s progress in Girls Champion Schools Competition

Leeds Rugby Foundation would like to congratulate Corpus Christi Catholic College and Royds High School who both progressed into the Regional Finals of the Girls Champion Schools Competition.

As part of Leeds Rugby Foundation’s Rugby League Development Plan for Leeds, which aims to get more youngsters involved in Rugby League, a number of schools from the Leeds and district area came down to Leeds Rugby Academy to showcase their skills, promote women’s Rugby League and ultimately progress in the competition.

Both Royds High School and Corpus Christie were the school's who qualified further as well as achieving maximum points from their respective groups in the process.

England Women's International and Hunslet Hawks Community Development Officer, Lois Forsell commented:

“It was great to see the year 11 girls playing after a drought in competition for them and progressing. Their skill levels were excellent and it is brilliant to see a number of the girls develop their game through further through participation at their local community clubs.”
