Rugby League World Cup (RLWC) comes to Headingley Carnegie Stadium this coming Friday as reigning world champions New Zealand take on Papua New Guinea and Leeds Rugby Foundation are playing their part in proceedings as local Leeds children have their chance to shine on the world stage.
A total of 8 teams will take part in half-time matches, whilst 12 teams will parade the Headingley Carnegie pitch in recognition of their participation in the Leeds Rugby Foundation Primary School RLWC Festival.
The U9 and U10 community clubs that are part of the Leeds Rugby Foundation Ambassador Scheme and are taking part in the half-time matches are as follows:
– North Leeds Leapords
– Beeston
– Drighlington (x2)
– Stanningley
– Leeds Irish
– Guiseley (x2)
The 12 Primary School’s who represented a country of the current RLWC in the Leeds Rugby Foundation RLWC Festival earlier this month that will parade the pitch at half-time will be:
– Holy Family
– Beecroft
– Bramley St Peters
– Castleton
– Churwell
– Drighlington
– Garforth Green Lane
– Hunslet St Joseph’s
– Woodlesford
– Lower Wortley
– Queensway
– St Augustines
