Leeds Big Sleep 2023 unites local organisations for a night on the terraces

Thursday 23rd November will see the seventh edition of the Leeds Big Sleep, as local businesses, organisations and members of the general public commit to raising funds for three Leeds based charities.

Whilst raising awareness of the plight of homelessness faced by many in our community, last year’s event raised an admirable £62,000, which was split between the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, St Gemma’s Hospice and St George’s Crypt.

This year the target has been set at £100k, which will enable each charity to continue their work in the city of Leeds.

Helping us achieve this will be businesses and organisations who have committed to taking part, alongside their colleagues.

One of those businesses is Caddick Construction, one that the Foundation has a long-running relationship with. As current supporters of our Wheelchair Rugby League team and key partner of the Foundation, we are pleased that Director, Jim Dyson, alongside several colleagues, will be joining us on the 23rd of November.

Alongside them will be Keltbray, a leading UK specialist engineering business, who secured the contract to deliver improvement works on the £49.8m M621 Junctions 1 to 7 Scheme on behalf of National Highways here in Leeds.

Another key relationship for the Foundation is with our local education providers, including Trinity Academy Leeds. Through the provision of Rugby League based sessions and school competitions, the Academy has become a pro-active partner in improving opportunities in school environments throughout the city.

We caught up with Imogen Bateman and Robert Withers from Trinity Academy, who are already making great fundraising efforts for the event.
