England Boxing and the Leeds Rhinos Foundation launch new ‘BOX’ sessions

The Leeds Rhinos Foundation in partnership with England Boxing, are inviting you to ‘Box’ your way to fitness with a new boxing programme at locations around the city, starting on 28th January.

The new initiative, designed to offer alternative fitness options for people in the city, will see more people enjoying boxing at sites all over Leeds with qualified Box coaches such as Leeds Rugby legend Keith Senior along with other coaches from the Leeds Rhinos Foundation.

The ‘BOX’ programme which is England Boxing’s Olympic-style boxing fitness workout, aims to help bridge the gap between community activity and England Boxing's affiliated clubs, by delivering a community activity and ultimately giving people an introduction to boxing.

The sessions, which are free of charge, work on the basics of boxing, incorporating fitness drills with proper boxing technique in a series of circuits designed to provide an overall balanced body workout in the hour long sessions without the contact element of boxing.

‘BOX’ is ideal for anyone wanting to improve their general fitness in a fun, interactive and non-contact environment and is suited to people of all abilities, with mixed and ‘Women only’ sessions also available as part of the programme.

Dan Busfield, Partnership manager for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, has put together the initial 7-week ‘BOX’ schedule in venues around Leeds:

“Our partnership with England Boxing will give people the opportunity to try boxing in a different environment. We will then work with England boxing to signpost participants into local affiliated boxing clubs, where they can further their development. We are delighted to be able to contribute to wider sporting agendas in our City.”

With the first session running on the 28th January, don’t miss out on your chance to get involved in a ‘BOX’ session coming soon near you.
