A Week In The Life Of…….. Nicola Booth – Leeds Rhinos Dance Captain

Nic here…. I’m captain and choregrapher of the Leeds Rhinos Dance Team and I do everything dance related for the Leeds Rugby Foundation and Leeds Rugby. Aswell as the work I do for the Foundation and Leeds Rugby I also work as a freelance dance coach too. I’m a busy bee! Check out a typical week in my working life

Monday 5th March
Breakfast time, it's the most important meal of the day!
Admin – replying to queries from people interested in joining the Rhinestones, booking the Rhinos Dance Team for various additional appearances including a number of schools talent, dance and cheer comps
Casting for a TV commercial, myself and 9 others from the team auditioned for a production company wanting dancers for a new TV advert, fingers crossed we get it!
Coaching the Temple Moor Panthers, the school cheer team at Temple Moor High School, preparing them for the Leeds keystage 3/4 competition in May.
Rhinestones classes at HQ (Headingley Stadium) rehearsing them for their performance at the Rhinos game on 9th April.

Tuesday 6th March
Early morning gym session at the Village gym Headingley
Lesson Planning – structuring lessons and choreographing routines for the groups I work with
Coaching the Whitkirk Tigers, the school cheer team at Whitkirk Primary School, preparing them for a performance in their Easter assembly.
Rhinestones classes at the Temple Moor Club, rehearsing them for their performance at the Rhinos game on 9th April.

Wednesday 7th March
Early morning gym session
Teaching street dance at Swinnow Primary School
After school dance club at Whingate Primary School
Teaching street dance at Gipton Together
Rhinos Dance Team rehearsal at Headingley Stadium, rehearsing for the Warrington game on Friday and for the Leeds Carnegie play off games.

Thursday 8th March
Sorting the promotional campaign for the Rhinestones boys dance class, our new boys class will hopefully launch after the Easter holiday.

Coaching the Crossgates Cupcakes, the school cheer team at Crossgates Primary School, preparing them for a performance at their school sports day.
Teaching technique, jazz and tap at Gipton Together

Friday 9th March
Early morning gym session
Coaching the St Paul's Sweeties, the school cheer team at St Paul's Primary School, preparing them for a performance at their Easter assembly.
Performing at the Rhinos V Warrington! Goooooo Rhinos!

Saturday 10th March
Teaching dance at my performance school, the Dare 2 Performance School launched this year and runs from the Headingley Enterprise and Arts Centre, we do dance, drama and singing I do the dance classes.
A Rhinestones Birthday Party for a special little girl. The birthday girl and her friends do a birthday boogie to Lady Gaga's Just Dance
