Upcoming fixtures announced for Learning Disability Super League

Following on from the incredible success at Dacia Magic Weekend, Community Integrated Care, the Betfred Super League and the RFL are delighted to announce the upcoming fixtures for the ground-breaking Learning Disability Super League.

The Learning Disability Super League gives people with learning disabilities the opportunity to play an adapted version of rugby league at a series of high-profile events and festivals. Last month, the launch of the programme took place at Anfield during Dacia’s Magic Weekend, giving almost 160 people, including the Leeds Rhinos Foundation Learning Disability Rugby League team, the opportunity to play in front of tens of thousands of people at the iconic home of Liverpool FC.

The launch of this world first programme has attracted unprecedented media attention for a social care inclusion project, with content from Magic Weekend achieving more than 300,000 video views and 1 million impressions on Twitter over Magic Weekend. The programme is also going to be the charity partner of the National Learning Disability Awards, taking place this month.

An exciting series of fixtures has been announced for over the coming months, with Learning Disability Super League festivals taking place at:
Warrington Wolves – 22nd June 2019
Hull KR – 21st July 2019
Wakefield Trinity – 18th August 2019
Grand Day Out, Blackpool – 7th September 2019

Each festival will feature the Rhinos and several other Learning Disability Super League teams and will be hosted by the respective clubs to help further promote the sport.

Mark Adams, CEO of Community Integrated Care, says, “We’re absolutely thrilled to see the overwhelming success of the Learning Disability Super League, and to see more and more people getting involved in this exceptional initiative.

“The programme is changing the lives of so many people by building confidence, creating lasting friendships and providing people with unforgettable opportunities.”
