Leeds Rhinos Foundation get on board with First Bus for new partnership

First West Yorkshire is helping to transport thousands of young people over the next year, thanks to an exciting new partnership with Leeds Rhinos Foundation.

The new partnership announced today between Leeds Rhinos Foundation- the official charity of Super League club Leeds Rhinos- and the local bus operator aims to encourage more young people to travel sustainably.

First West Yorkshire want bus travel to become an integral part of young people’s lives and hopes that this partnership will give them the independence and confidence to use public transport across the region.

John Godfrey, Marketing Manager for First West Yorkshire, said: “We’re really excited to be teaming up with Leeds Rhinos Foundation, as we’re working hard to encourage more young people to travel by bus, where possible.

“The partnership will assist with transporting young people to community clubs, so they have access to enjoy local sports activities and events.

“We will also be running competitions through the Ambassador Club scheme, where people will have the chance to win 100 Rugby Balls for their club if they download the First Bus App.”

The agreement sees First West Yorkshire become Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Club Ambassador main partner, with a focus on providing support for rugby league activity delivered by the charity to the Rhinos’ Ambassador community clubs.

Dan Busfield, Head of Partnerships and Development at Leeds Rhinos Foundation added: “We are delighted to be working with First West Yorkshire and we would like to thank them for their support.

“The partnership with First West Yorkshire will mean that the Foundation can enhance our offer to Ambassador community clubs on important initiatives and events such as our Coach Education programme, Ambassador Festivals, targeted workshops, Rhinos Respect campaign and much more.”
