Year 7 Girls Indoor Touch Takes Off

19th November saw three schools arrive at Bruntcliffe High School ready to compete to be crowned the Girls Year 7 Indoor Touch Champions for the Leeds South Partnership.

The three schools in attendance were Bruntcliffe School, Woodkirk Academy and Leeds North East School Allerton High who were offered an extended invite into the Leeds South Comp.

The festival kicked off indoors where the dark nights and cold weather could not play a part in the games with a close encounter between Woodkirk Academy B and Bruntcliffe School. The home team fought hard but a clever play and lapse in concentration from the defenders allowed Woodkirk to cross their opponent’s line. This lapse in concentration from Bruntcliffe proved costly as the narrowly lost one nil. However the home team hungry to improve ran out one nil winners against Woodkirk Academy A in the following game.

Allerton High were next to take to the pitch and after a shaky start managing a one nil victory marginally against Woodkirk Academy A they ran out over all winners winning all three of their games! Below you can see the results from the evening:

Woodkirk Academy A 0 v Allerton High 1
Woodkirk Academy B 1 v Bruntcliffe School 0
Allerton High 2 v Woodkirk Academy B 1
Bruntcliffe School 1 v Woodkirk Academy A 0
Bruntcliffe School 0 v Allerton High 1

Well done to all the girls involved whose skills developed throughout the evening, and particularly to Allerton High for walking away Champions.
