Try Club men’s health programme returns to Emerald Headingley 4th July – Sign up today

Men from Leeds can take their weight and health management into their own hands on the 4th July by taking part in Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Try Club programme.

Held at Emerald Headingley Stadium, Try Club is a health programme for men looking to kickstart a new health regime with the aim of the course for every participant to be educated, motivated and committed to getting healthy and staying fit.

The 12-week programme is commissioned by Leeds City Council and is open to all male residents of Leeds to inform and educate around the confusing world of diets and weight loss to dispel any myths with the view to achieve long term weight loss without the need for gimmicky fads and patronising diets.

Each weekly 90 minute session focuses on a different nutrition and well-being topic exploring the facts surrounding key topics including portion size, fats and sugars followed by a progressive physical activity session suitable for all abilities which builds on burning body fat, building lean muscle mass and strengthening the core, all of which is accompanied by additional weekly exercise sessions and a home-based workout routine to maintain the changes away from the sessions.

The programme has so far helped over 100 men since launching in 2015 with previous programmes also running at sites in the community including Oulton Rugby Club, West Leeds Rugby Club and East Leeds Rugby Club.

Week 1 which starts on the 4th July will form as an introduction to the programme with comprehensive health checks offered to all with the full 12-week programme commencing 18th July.

To be eligible for the programme, you will have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of over 25, be male and over the age of 18.
