Tag Rugby Festival At Wetherby Bulldogs Enjoyed By 100 Children

Leeds Rugby Foundation yesterday delivered a highly successful Tag Rugby League Festival at Wetherby Bulldogs ARLFC, which was funded and supported by Caddick Construction.

The support from Caddick Construction enabled the Leeds Rugby Foundation to deliver four weeks of Tag Rugby coaching with 10 local schools, a whole school ‘Creating a Winning Team’ assembly and a Tag Rugby League festival for a host of primary schools in the Wetherby and Boston Spa area of Leeds concluded the programme.

In total 10 primary schools attended which made for a very competitive and enjoyable event for all involved.

After some highly entertaining and competitive games, Deighton Gates Primary School were crowned the eventual winners of the ‘Caddick Cup’ which was presented by Peter Hirst, Financial Director at Caddick Construction and Leeds Rugby Foundation Trustee.

Leeds Rhinos Primary Schools’ Development Officer, Tony Aubrey commented: “This was a fantastic event enjoyed by all.

“If you look at the Rugby League Development taking place here today, there 100 children, both boys and girls, playing Rugby League at Wetherby Bulldogs ARLFC.

“The kids really enjoyed themselves and behaved in a manner that not only dis their schools proud, but their parents and themselves as well,” he continued.

“This was a really competitive event and I would like to congratulate Deighton Gates Primary School for winning the festival. Their skills and their efforts were superb!

“I would also like to thank Wetherby Bulldogs ARLFC for letting us use their fantastic facilities and finally a huge thank you to Caddick Construction for supporting and funding the programme and enabling all this success to happen today.”
