Swinnow Primary School Hit Gold!

Leeds Rugby Foundation today presented Swinnow Primary School with the Sainsbury’s School Games Kitemark Gold award.

The award recognises the schools participation in a wide range of intra and inter school competitions across many different sports. Another Leeds based school, Valley View Primary, have also recently been rewarded for the same achievement.

On Wednesday morning, Leeds Rhinos legend Keith Senior presented the award to Swinnow Primary School Headteacher Mrs Chin OBE in front of the school pupils before answering questions from both pupils and staff as well as signing memorabilia for the school.

Schools, FE & HE Ambassador Manager Russell Parker commented: "It was great that Leeds Rugby Foundation and School Games Organiser Charlie Pyatt were able to present the award to Swinnow Primary School. It is just reward for their continued efforts in school sport participation,” he said.

“The staff at Swinnow Primary School have put in an incredible amount of effort to inspire and engage the pupils in school sport. This time and dedication as well as this award, will hopefully now inspire the next generation of school’s to partake, not just in Rugby League, but in a wide-range of sports.”
