Simply Health Great North Run places available with Run with the Rhinos this year

Runners looking to take on one of the biggest half marathon events in the world will be able take up a charity place with Leeds Rhinos Foundation in 2018 as a new offer from the charity’s Run with the Rhinos programme

With results from the general ballot coming out this week from race provider Great Run, thousands of people who have applied for one of the 57,000 places will find out if they are successful in gaining a spot on the start line.

For those who are unsuccessful in gaining a general entry place in this year’s ballot, Leeds Rhinos Foundation are offering charity places for the price of £76 with a minimum fundraising target of £250 to help us change lives through sport.

Taking place on the 9th September 2018, the Simply Health Great North Run sees thousands of runners take on the half marathon challenge every year. Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne the 13.1-mile course is lined with supporters all the way from the iconic Tyne Bridge, right out towards the stunning coastline in South Shields.

Since 1981 the popular half marathon has welcomed over one million people across the finish line in South Shields. Broadcast each year by the BBC, the event has attracted some of the world’s greatest long-distance runners including Paula Radcliffe, Haile Gebrselassie, Kenenisa Bekele and winner over the last four years Mo Farah.

To claim your charity with Leeds Rhinos Foundation simply email Kate.Grannan@leedsrugby.com to register your details and as soon as you are signed up we will send out your Run with the Rhinos race top and official welcome to the team.

If you were lucky enough to secure your place via the ballot and would still like to fundraise for Leeds Rhinos Foundation simply email us at the same address and you will receive all the same benefits as our charity place runners.
