Seriously Campaign raises awareness of antibiotics use at Emerald Headingley

The stands of Emerald Headingley Stadium turned red yesterday, as fans and players alike waved their red foam hands and pledged to take antibiotics correctly!

The ‘Seriously’ campaign aims to raise awareness of the dangers of antibiotic resistance, and encourages people to make a pledge to help keep them working. Antibiotics are used in treatments for anything from tonsillitis to cancer.

If they stop working due to overuse then by 2050 a paper cut could become deadly! By taking antibiotics only when we need them, and always finishing a course exactly as your doctor has advised, we can help to keep antibiotics working for generations to come.

So far the Seriously campaign has collected over 16,000 pledges from people all over Leeds. The future of antibiotics is in our hands! Make your pledge online at seriouslyresistant.com.
