The Leeds Rhinos Foundation is delighted to announce that Leeds favourite Salvo’s Italian Restaurant has become a new Friend of the Foundation and to celebrate this the restaurant will be hosting an event on Thursday 19th November.
Arguably a Leeds institution, Salvo’s has been ran by the Dammone family since 1976. Located just up the road from our home at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, the Leeds Rhinos Foundation are excited to launch the partnership with the popular Italian restaurant. We are proud to welcome Salvo’s as the latest members of our Friends of the Foundation Business Membership Scheme and kick start this collaborative venture with a unique joint event.
Bob Bowman, Leeds Rhinos Foundation Director of Operations and seasoned Salvo’s customer said on the endeavour: “When you mention the name Salvo’s, I am sure most people think Headingley and the restaurant’s iconic status in Leeds. Therefore the synergy of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Salvos working together to improve opportunities and outcomes for the city of Leeds is so exciting. We are all delighted that John and Gip have recognised that the profile and impact of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation is a cause that they want to support and for that we thank them immensely for what we hope will be a long and beneficial working relationship.’

‘My family and other Italians:’ Eat the Book
In light of the recent publication of the first Salvos recipe book, guests are invited to this exclusive event on 19th November to enjoy a three course meal consisting of firm Salvo’s favourites!
Hosted in the restaurant’s adjacent sister restaurant Salvo’s Salumeria guests will be joined by Salvo’s owner and book author, John Dammone, who will give an exclusive insight to Salvo’s, the book and their time- honoured recipes.
Leeds Rhinos Foundation Director of Operations, Bob Bowman, will also be in attendance to share some rugby and Leeds related storytelling. The Challenge Cup and League Leaders Shield will be present and guests are welcome to photograph with the Silverware. The evening will also support the great work of the Foundation with a raffle with suitably ‘foodie’ prizes!
