Next Sunday, more than 100 runners and walkers will take on the Asda Foundation Leeds 10K with the Run with the Rhinos team, and one Rhinos fan will be taking on the challenge in memory of his friend who tragically passed away last year.
Mark Reynolds was encouraged to join the Run with the Rhinos team in memory of his friend, and lifelong Leeds Rhinos fan, Raymond Greenfield.
“Raymond sadly passed away last year just before the Toulouse game aged 33-years-old,” explained Mark.
“He was a passionate fan of the Rhinos and that passion has rubbed off on me, making me an even bigger fan than I have been before. I will be remembering him as I take part in the run on Sunday.”
The Leeds 10k is an inclusive event and many people participating will be walking the route, including Mark, who has also been motivated to join the team after seeing the great work that Leeds Rhinos Foundation do in the local community.
“The reason I chose to support Leeds Rhinos Foundation in the Leeds 10k is that I am a big supporter of what the charity stands for and does in the community of Leeds and surrounding areas,” said Mark.
“I was first introduced to the charity last season via a friend when we attended one of the Leeds Rhinos Women’s games. I am now a big fan and a very keen supporter of the women’s team. I travel down from Newcastle to watch as many of their games as possible, as well as travelling to almost every first team home game.
“Even though I am only walking the route, I am extremely proud and honoured to be able to support Leeds Rhinos Foundation. I wanted to push my limits to see what I could achieve and also improve my fitness.
“So far, I’ve managed to get almost £150 in sponsorship donations and I intend to try and get more, so if anyone could give a little and support a great cause then I would be very grateful.”
