We are excited to announce that registration for the Boys RTP Spring Programme has now opened to those currently in Year 10 and 11!
Starting on Monday 3rd March, players enrolled on the programme will participate in six weekly development sessions at the Leeds Rhinos training complex in Kirkstall, where they will receive outstanding Rugby League coaching within a professional club environment.
This will lead up to a playing opportunity where players can showcase the skills they have developed, by representing the Rhinos in a playing opportunity vs Featherstone Rovers Foundation and Bradford Bulls Foundation.
During the programme, players will be coached in line with the Rhinos Scholarship, Academy and First Team structures, with a focus on improving their fundamental technical skills, game sense and decision making, as well as physical and mental development through high-quality coaching. The programme will follow a Learn, Develop, Apply structure, to ensure that players can reach their full potential.
The session dates will be as followed:
Monday 3rd March – Session 1
Monday 10th March – Session 2
Monday 17th March – Session 3
Monday 24th March – Session 4
Monday 31st March – Session 5
Monday 7th April – Final Training Session
Wednesday 16th April – Fixture vs Featherstone Rovers Foundation & Bradford Bulls Foundation (Venue & time TBC)
At a critical stage of the Rhinos Talent Pathway, this open-access programme provides further participation and development opportunities for young players who aspire of progressing into the professional game but are not currently involved on a Scholarship programme.
This pathway provides a strong link into the professional setup and can be used to complement training with a community club, representing a great opportunity for any aspiring players across the city to further their development, explore new techniques and display their abilities in a highly competitive setting.
This programme is free to register for Leeds based players (LS Postcode) and players registered with a Leeds based community club. A further window will potentially open for out of area players depending on initial demand.
