Leeds Rhinos Foundation and ESF Events are delighted to announce that registration for Rhinos Challenge 2017 is now open, offering community clubs a place at the largest junior Rugby League Festival tour experience in the country at two locations next Summer
Rhinos Challenge 2016 saw a record 140 teams and over 6000 people attend the Skegness event at Butlins during May, followed by a further 35 teams attending the first ever event held at Haven Holiday’s Cala Gran Resort in Blackpool a month later in June.
The highly popular festival experience will return for the fifth year in 2017 with dates now set for the two festivals taking place on the weekend of Friday 12th May to Monday 15th May at Butlins Skegness and Friday 16th June to Monday 19th June at Haven Holidays in Blackpool.
Clubs are encouraged to register for their place as early as possible to avoid disappointment with team places available from under 7s to under 15s at the Skegness event and under 8s to 15s available on the North West coastline in Blackpool.
For the first time in 2017, Rhinos Challenge will offer places for girl’s rugby teams at the Butlins Skegness event, with places available for teams in the under 12’s and 14s age groups due to demand from the growing number of ladies and girl’s teams across the country.
Rhinos Challenge run by ESF Events is a professionally organised rugby league tournament for teams from all over the UK, providing a unique tour experience and superb touring facilities provided at Butlins award winning resort in Skegness and Haven’s Cala Gran Holiday park.
Supported each year by staff from the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and players from the Leeds Rhinos first team squad, the festivals culminate in a spectacular celebrity presentation ceremony to close the festival which this year included Danny McGuire, Carl Ablett, Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Ryan Hall to name just a few.
Every year Rhinos Challenge attracts teams from different areas of the country who want to test themselves against clubs from different regions, which has in recent years included teams from Sussex, Essex, Cumbria, the North East, Yorkshire and Lancashire all taking part.
Going on tour provides a rare and exciting opportunity for players, coaches and club supporters to build team spirit and morale, all housed on resort with a range of affordable accommodation packages available from ESF events in partnership with Butlins and Haven Holidays, providing some life long memories for many years to come.
