This week as part of the Queen Ethelburga’s College programme Community manager Adam Blades travelled to the school along with first team players David Doherty and Joe Graham
The sessions have now moved towards a 7’s rugby focus as the school enters the 7’s season. Working with 30 children the pupils were treated to very specific handling and skill sessions with the players joining in and giving their advice where needed.
Following this the pupils formed into teams and progressed with conditioned games for the remainder of the session. Commenting on the session Adam said, ‘It was great to be able to take Dave and Joe to the school, firstly because they have a wealth of premiership rugby experience between them and secondly because they are very good coaches. It was also good to get an input form Dave as he is a great player within the 7’s game and has a wealth of experience playing the specific format.’
