As part of an ongoing promotion of healthy lifestyles, the Leeds Rhinos Foundation are supporting the Leeds Smart Swapathon campaign, to encourage people to make swaps to reduce fat, salt and sugar from everyday foods, or to think about ways to be more active this New Year.
The Leeds ‘Smart Swapathon’ campaign is the cities way of promoting the national Change4Life ‘Sugar Swaps’ campaign as advertised on TV. The local campaign is asking the public to record the number of ‘swaps’ made in Leeds from the 19th January to the 27th February.
People taking part can share their ‘swaps’ on our specific Leeds Rhinos Foundation totalizer, which contributes to the overall Leeds City total and can be found at: http://www.leedsletschange.co.uk/smartswaps/organisations/leeds-rhinos-foundation
We are encouraging our fans, ambassador schools, Rugby League clubs and anyone interested in making a healthy change this month to pledge a swap with us and take the first step on the journey to a Healthier lifestyle.
Pledging a swap is a simple as clicking on our special Leeds Rhinos Foundation URL and clicking on the Totalizer total, you can then enter your Smart Swap in the pop-up box provided, so be creative!
There are lots of prizes available offered on a lottery basis for organisations and individuals who upload swaps to the website!

Here is a brief summary of the types of swaps you can make:
Breakfast Swaps – Eating a healthier breakfast gives us all the energy we need to get through to lunchtime without reaching for an unhealthy snacks. Why not try wholegrain cereals or toast to get you started?
Cook Swaps – Cooking meals instead of getting a takeaway could save you up to £800 a year and help you feel great. Why not try involving the kids for lots of fun? See the 'recipes' link for lot's of great recipes available on the LeedsLetsChange website.
Activity Swaps – How could you take your small steps to being more active? Maybe walking to work one day a week or taking the stairs instead of the lift at work.
Drink Swaps – For all the family swapping from Fizzy Drinks to water or milk can really make a difference.
