NHS in Leeds teams up with Leeds Rugby Foundation and Leeds Rhinos

A new partnership has been launched to help reshape the way urgent and emergency care is provided in Leeds.

The NHS in Leeds has teamed up with Leeds Rugby Foundation and Leeds Rhinos to urge local fans to complete a new survey and have their say about their experiences of urgent or emergency care services so that they can help improve and shape services for the future.

By filling in the survey you will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win a VIP hospitality package for four people at a future Leeds Rhinos game at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.

Urgent care is when you feel ill or have been injured but the condition is not life threatening but still needs to be seen quite quickly. Emergency care is when you have a serious life-threatening illness or injury that needs to be treated immediately.

Anybody who lives in Leeds or the surrounding areas that has used urgent or emergency care health services in the past twelve months can take part in the survey and help the local NHS plan the way these services are provided in the future.

Everyone is urged to take part in the anonymous survey which is available by CLICKING HERE.  If anybody would like help to complete the questionnaire or would like it in another language or format they should email leedsnorthccg@nhs.net or phone 0113 8432900.

“We are hoping that our new relationship with Leeds Rugby Foundation and its strong links with the Leeds Rhinos fans will encourage local people to tell us their views about urgent and emergency services in Leeds.  We are urging people to fill in a survey so we can understand what people need and why people use certain services at certain times.  As an incentive all respondents will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win a VIP hospitality package at a Leeds Rhinos match.” said Jason Broch, GP and clinical chair of NHS Leeds North Clinical Commissioning Group.

Gary Hetherington, Chief Executive of Leeds Rugby commented, “Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Rugby Foundation are delighted to be teaming up with the three Leeds based NHS CCG's in raising the awareness of Urgent Care. Urgent Care is something that touches every bodies lives at some point, and knowing how to access the right service is crucial and cost efficient. It’s important that the people of Leeds have a voice in how we can re-shape the NHS in the future, therefore using our vast audiences will provide opportunities in becoming involved”

Davide Longo, Partnership Manager at Leeds Rugby Foundation made a further comment: “It is fantastic that the Foundation can work with the CCG’s. I am hoping this will be the start of a fruitful partnership as the Foundation’s work meets many of the priorities of the NHS in Leeds.”
